Description
In 1966 Professor Dr. Georg Zundel, a physicist and philanthropist dedicated to the politics of peace-making, founded the "Physikalisch Technisches Laboratorium Berghof GmbH" with the aim of translating research results in the fields of electrochemistry, membrane filtration and plastics technology into ground-breaking achievements. The present-day Berghof group of companies grew out of this.
Today the Berghof Group is acknowledged worldwide as a provider of technically sophisticated, benefit-oriented industrial products and services. The Group is divided into business units, which each operate independently at locations in Eningen, Tübingen, Chemnitz, Mühlhausen, Ravensburg and Leeuwarden. This ensures both proximity to customers and the ability to respond flexibly to the signals from the market in global competition. The parent organisation of the Berghof Group is the Berghof GmbH, which has its main place of business in Tübingen. Its owners are all members of the Zundel family. Following the death of Professor Georg Zundel in March 2007, in the second generation the family company is under the direction of his sons.
